The Star Education Fair provides a platform for institutions to share a wealth of information on programmes available and for students to shop around on what interests them.

DECIDING on what to study can be a daunting task but school leavers can seek help at the Star Education Fair 2017, which will be held on Jan 7 and 8.

Students unsure of what to do next can meet experts on pre-university education and representatives from colleges and universities.

They will brief students and parents on a wide range of certificate, foundation, diploma and postgraduate courses as well as professional qualifications.

A balloting session was held at Menara Star in Petaling Jaya with over 70 exhibitors vying for the most strategic booths at next year’s event.

The biggest exhibitors are Limkokwing University of Creative Technology and Penang Medical College (PMC), with 18 booths each.

PMC director of operations Dr Eileen M. Buckley-Dhoot said PMC is wholly owned by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and University College Dublin.

She said PMC provides high-quality Irish medical education delivered transnationally, the pre-clinical programme is delivered in Dublin and the clinical programme in Penang.

Tuition fees for the PMC programme are less than 50% of fees for the full duration programme in Dublin, she added.
