PMC welcomes over 100 students who successfully completed their pre-clinical medicine studies at either the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) or University College Dublin (UCD). PMC also welcomes our first RCSI-UCD Dublin Scholarship recipients in this class.
The graduating class of 2020 will be robed with white coats by the Heads of Department and senior management of PMC, as well as the Penang Hospital director.
Students will now transition from the study of preclinical medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) or University College Dublin (UCD) to their clinical medicine training years with PMC and its Teaching Hospitals.
The ceremony marks the passage of students from teaching that is largely based in the university setting to the significant responsibility of learning from patients and doctors in the hospital and clinic setting. The white coat is an outward sign of this significant progression and a symbol of the professional duty of caring for patients.
